It's So Nice to Meet You!
Hi there! I'm Emma, the human behind Milo & Co.
I've been working in the pet care industry for over 4 years, and have spent a lifetime caring for my own pets. I have experience in many aspects of pet care, such as dog daycares, animal shelters, pet sitting, dog walking, and dog training. I am passionate about animals and am yet to come across one I don't love.
My Journey
My passion for animals started at a young age. I was born into an animal-loving home, and my first love was Henley, our English Springer Spaniel. Throughout the years we also adopted a cat and a Spaniel mix.
As soon as I was able, I was helping out with feeding and walking our dogs, and felt a strong connection to all animals. As they got older, I helped out with medication, and general senior pet care.
We now have 2 Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and a cat from the Toronto Humane Society. I was very involved with their puppy training, and found a love in dog training.
FUN FACT: Emma's first word was "doggy".

In 2021, I came across a job post for a dog daycare attendant, and I couldn't resist applying. Although I had no former professional experience with animals, the owner took a chance on me, and I am eternally grateful for that.
I immediately fell in love with working with dogs, and spent all of my free time learning more about pet care and training.
As my own dog, Milo, began to experience some health issues, as well as behavioural issues, my interest in dog training grew. I began learning about co-operative care, building food motivation, and general dog training, and I quickly knew that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
The Road to Milo & Co
As my interest in dog training grew, I began volunteering with the Toronto Humane Society in canine care, and with When Hounds Fly, as a training class assistant, as well as completing the Fear Free Pets Daycare and Boarding, and Pet Sitting certifications.
In early 2026, I completed the Karen Pryor Academy Professional Dog Training program, and officially became a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner. The program is highly-respected in the dog training world, and focuses on using science-based, positive reinforcement methods. It was 6 months of hard work, and taught me so much!
Soon after my KPA certification, I completed the Fear Free Trainer Certification in order to expand my knowledge of co-operative care.
Most recently, I became a Certified Trick Dog Instructor after completing multiple trick titles with all 3 of my dogs.
The Face Behind the Name.
If you'e anything like me, you're really here to meet our furry co-founder. This is Milo, my 4 year-old French Bulldog. Although I have owned cats and dogs of various breeds by whole life, Milo is the first dog of my own, and definitely my soul dog. He is the reason I am so passionate about ethical breeding, positive reinforcement based training, pet enrichment, and co-operative care. He has helped me through many challenges and reminds me everyday why animals are superior to humans.
